Pensions modeller

Working closely with the BT pensions team and KPMG, we devised a web-based modeller that enabled users to see ALL the possible effects of a number of proposed chnages to their benefits including:

• moving to a career-average basis
• changes to retirement age
• changes to accrual
• changes to contributions

The benefit to members was clear - a complex set of proposals became personalised and specific to their own pension expectations.

In addition, the modeller gave opportunity to explain how the changes would work over time, and how those near to retirement would be less effected than younger memebrs.

All of this was presented graphically as well as numerically, thus enabling users to SEE the immediate impact (in many cases minimal impact) of the particular scenario, and turn on and off different aspects to see the worst and best cases.
