Tories best for pensions

A Conservative victory would be the best for pensions according to our 'Vote for Pensions' poll of industry professionals.
On the day of the election, the breakdown of votes based purely on the policies of the three main parties showed:
- The Tories in the lead with 41.2%
- Labour in second place with 28% of the vote
- Liberal Democrats in third place with 21.4%
- And 9.7% of those who voted were undecided on which policies would work best
The results of our poll agreed with a separate poll carried out by Pensions Insight magazine which put Tories ahead with 49% of the vote when asked the question "Which political party would be best for the pensions industry?".
It is clear from some of the anonymous comments we have received that the industry is disillusioned wiht the current pensions landscape - this is probably not news to any of us, but what will be interesting to see is whether the results of the election will mark a turning point for pensions in the coming years.
